'I am working on it' - Hazard says he needs more goals to reach Messi and Ronaldo's level
The Chelsea star, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season
Eden Hazard believes he needs to score more goals if he wants to reach the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hazard, 26, has helped put Chelsea on the brink of winning a Premier League and FA Cup double this season, scoring 15 goals across both competitions.
The former Lille man was in contention to win the PFA Player of the Year award as a result of his fine efforts, but he was pipped to the individual prize by Blues team-mate N'Golo Kante.
Another Chelsea team-mate, Cesc Fabregas, recently stated Hazard must become more “selfish” in front of goal in order to match the dizzy heights Messi has set at Barcelona.
And Hazard has revealed Fabregas is not alone to have told him that and says he is “working on” beefing up his goal tally.
"Fabregas is not the only one to say that to me," he told Sky Sports.
"A lot of people say to me: 'You need to be more selfish,' but when I am on the pitch sometimes I prefer to pass the ball.
"I try game after game to be more selfish. I know it is good for me to score more goals if I want to reach the level of Messi and Ronaldo. I am working on it."
Messi has scored 47 goals in all competitions for Barcelona so far this term, while Ronaldo has netted 31 times for Madrid.
